Cirali: A Hidden Gem on Turkey’s Turquoise Coast
Tucked between pine-covered mountains, icy rivers, and creeks, Cirali is a secluded paradise on the Antalya coastline, offering a blend of pristine nature, ancient history, and outdoor adventure. Overlooked by the majestic peak of Mount Tahtalı, this tranquil village is part of a protected area under the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF), ensuring it remains one of the last unspoiled coastal destinations in Turkey.
The 4-kilometer-wide pebble beach is a designated nesting ground for Caretta Caretta (Loggerhead Sea Turtles). Nesting sites are protected from May to October, and campfires or camping on the beach are prohibited to safeguard the turtles. The beach extends beyond the village, passing sheer cliffs and river mouths, eventually leading to the ancient ruins of Olympos.
Cirali is a favorite stop for hikers, as the 500-kilometer-long Lycian Way (Turkey’s first marked long-distance hiking trail) passes through the village.
Unlike its more developed neighbors, Olympos and Kemer, Cirali remains peacefully untouched, yet still offers:
