Zeugma, once a thriving and wealthy city, was a major Greco-Roman settlement split by the Euphrates River. The name “Zeugma” translates to “bridge” or “crossing”, referencing the pontoons that once connected the two settlements.
This strategic location made Zeugma a major commercial hub, where merchants and traders from the East and West exchanged goods and wealth.
With its wealth, Zeugma became famous for its stunning villas, mosaics, and sculptures, many of which are now displayed in the Zeugma Mosaic Museum in Gaziantep.
Step back in time and explore the lost city of Zeugma—a place where ancient wealth, art, and commerce thrived on the banks of the Euphrates!
